Our first day in Los Angles kicked off before 5AM, and by the time the sun set, the city had set a heat record. The heat and the hills hearkened back to our Hong Kong honeymoon, albeit here we breathed in less pollution and cascaded considerably less sweat from every bodily crevice. Still, it was no day for a five mile walk, which is exactly what we stubbornly set out for and accomplished. There would be no exploring Los Angeles without a mingle with three thousand overheated tourists at the Walk of Fame. Normally such an encounter is repulsive enough; add a child in a baby carrier onto your chest and a black backpack on your reverse, and your day can’t end soon enough.
